Man oh man, those of you that have read a few of my reviews know that I'm all about ways to compensate for my laziness.

I am not a big fan of going to the cleaners simply because they are never open when I need them to be. I'm a parent, and a guy who works with a lot of people in Europe and Asia, so my mornings and evenings are already packed. How I'm I supposed to drive to the cleaners when I need to make a 7:00 am phone call?

That's where Purple Tie comes in. Our workplace has a cabinet and a regular pickup/dropoff schedule (Mon/Thurs), and I looked at it for years before I saw The Wife using it and wearing dry clean only clothes that weren't dirty, so I gave it a shot.

I dropped off a bag with my clothes (complete with a very stubborn mustard stain) and an order form (with a credit card number, of course), and three days later I have clean (including stain removed), pressed clothes hanging in the cabinet on coat hangers are fastened together with plastic tie that for some reason is purple, and it has a complete inventory/cost receipt. They were also returned with a reusable nylon bag that has your account information on it and you never have to fill out the form again. What floors me is that I can pick up while getting my third cup of morning coffee.

I try 'em again, this time with slacks that have a busted seam. Their instructions state that you should fill out a form with repairs, but I'm lazy and forgot. They called me and left a message saying they would repair them, and now the pants are returned, fixed, and ready to wear.

My neighbor said they deliver to her door, which I hadn't tried but I'm sure is a little more expensive, but given the convenience, I wouldn't mind the cost. Otherwise, the costs are competitive with the local cleaners."

"For so long now (nearly 2 years), my husband and I were taking our dry cleaning to some over priced place in Palo Alto, where 1) the price were ridiculously high...but apparently "low" for PA, and 2) customer service was lacking beyond belief -- the woman who owns the place needs a lesson in bed-side manner.

One day, I thought to myself...there's got to be another option -- and sure enough, after doing some research on Yelp, I came across Purple Tie. The quality of dry cleaning (having an on site plant), attention/detail to material and the types of dry cleaning done, price points, and customer service are impeccable.

From time-to-time, I drop off cultural outfits (e.g. saris etc) that require special attention given the handwork, embroidery etc -- I received two follow up calls prior to Purple Tie dry cleaning the clothing to ensure that I was okay w/ the type of dry cleaning they were going to do to prevent any harm to the embroidery etc. I was really pleased with the attentiveness and quality of their work.

Aside from that, I typically drop off my husband's button down shirts -- they allow you to specify the level of starch you would like applied, something that the other cranky lady in PA never bothered to ask.

All in all, coming to Purple Tie has been one the best decisions I've made since moving to the Bay. I highly recommend them given how particular (some would say "picky") I am when it comes to dry cleaning."

"So, as long as the stuff comes back clean and pressed, (which it always does) I give a dry cleaner a solid 3-4 stars. So what makes a 5? Customer service. Oh, and I guess price in this case.

Purple tie is not open till 12 PM on Monday's because they are a commercial drycleaner and probably have a ton of stuff come in over the weekend from hotels and other places with huge volume. They are doing fine and have every reason to blow off customers like me who have like, 2-5 things a month...maybe.

So, I show up 2 hours early around 10. Happen to see an employee walk by and flag him down. He opens up the shop *two hours _early_* to take my (small 5 item order). He's nice to me. He treats me like an important customer who came during regular business hours.

The dry cleaning or shoe shining is great (I've had both), but it's the prices (which are very reasonable) and the customer service which make this place awesome."

"What a great company. Not only do they give credit to their employees when a compliment is paid. They are the consummate professionals. I moved to a building with no laundry facility back in May of this year and have actually saved money with them coming to pick up and then deliver my laundry. Socks matched, everything folded with the least amount of creases, everything I send comes back. Delivery and pick up is always within the advertised window. They take the instructions and follow them to a tee. I love my purple bags. Mario who picks up and delivers is so professional and polite. Great service, please keep it up. To the naysayers, I just have to say, I have never had a problem. Purpletie has even acknowledged that if traffic is bad or things are running late, they know that I can go a day past my delivery date and they just have to call and let me know. Whoop, whoop, I am happy!"

I had a missing sweater and all pointed towards it being lost by Purple Tie. It took them a while to get their act to look into the matter (and it took the sweater being found), but once they engaged, they were able to give me enough data (video footage) for me to believe conclusively that I was at fault for mishandling and misplacing the sweater, not them (and they have a pretty tight system to track clothes - Thumbs Up for that!).

Overall, I like the convenience of the service. I wish they allowed me to chose how I want each item washed (so I wouldn't pay higher for some items), but the convenience beats the slight higher price. Another slight pet peeve is that my shirt buttons come home crumbled quite often (but they'll replace them if you make a note when sending in)."

"I think most people are indifferent when it comes to choosing a dry cleaners as long as the prices are fair. I used to feel the same way until I found PurpleTie.
